Ananda Yoga Therapy Training
Getting Started - 3 Ways to Enter


I. Graduates of Ananda Yoga Teacher Training (AYTT)

  1. Call or email us to let us know you are interested. We look forward to helping you get started!
  2. If you haven't already, start teaching Ananda Yoga. The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) educational standards require at least 1 year of experience teaching yoga before officially entering a Yoga Therapy Training program (our definition of 1 year = 80 hours). Make a log of your yoga teaching experience.
  3. Complete the online application.
  4. Check out the list of classes below. You will start with Part 1.

II. Graduates of Yoga Teacher Training from a different school (not Ananda)

  1. Call or email us to let us know you are interested. We look forward to helping you get started!
  2. Take Bridge to Ananda Yoga, a course designed to familiarize you with the Ananda Yoga style of teaching.
  3. After Bridge to Ananda Yoga, start teaching Ananda Yoga. IAYT educational standards require at least 1 year of experience teaching yoga before officially entering a Yoga Therapy Training program (our definition of 1 year = 80 hours), and 30 of those hours need to be in the Ananda Yoga style. (The other 50 hours may be in the style you were originally trained.) Make a log of your yoga teaching experience.
  4. Complete the online application.
  5. Check out the list of classes below. You will start with Part 1 after you complete Bridge to Ananda Yoga, though Restorative Yoga Teacher Training and Seniors and Bone Strength are exceptions – you may take those anytime if you graduated from a RYS (Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance).

III. Yoga enthusiasts looking for a career change

  1. Call or email us to let us know you are interested. We look forward to helping you get started!
  2. Take Ananda Yoga Teacher Training for your 200-hour certification.
  3. Start teaching Ananda Yoga. IAYT educational standards require at least 1 year of experience teaching yoga before officially entering a Yoga Therapy Training program (our definition of 1 year = 80 hours). Make a log of your yoga teaching experience.
  4. Complete the online application.
  5. Check out the list of classes. You will start with Part 1 after you complete Ananda Yoga Teacher Training.


IAYT Accredited

The Ananda Yoga Therapy Training program has been Accredited by the IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists)!  We are among the first ever programs to receive accreditation.  9 programs from the US, and 3 international programs were accredited.   Read more...
