The Art and Science of Raja Yoga
5 days
There are no dates currently scheduled.
Raja Yoga brings together the many paths of yoga, giving them the strength and focus of the development of soul-consciousness through meditation.
This week will be based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda as taught through Swami Kriyananda’s The Art and Science of Raja Yoga.
It will be a richly rewarding week, including classes on:
- A simplified history of yoga
- The major paths of yoga and how to use them in your own life.
- The eight stages of Self-realization as described by Patanjali. These provide guidelines, not only for a deeper understanding of meditation, but also for an excellent guide on how to spiritualize all of life.
- The chakras and the role they play in your spiritual development.
- Understanding the guru-disciple relationship.
Special workshops will give you an in-depth understanding of meditation, and a practical technique to use at home. You’ll also learn and experience the importance of energy and magnetism, and how to use affirmations effectively.
The week will include plenty of time for informal discussion.
