Spirit and Nature Backpacking Trip
3-day weekend
There are no dates currently scheduled.
Experience springtime in the rolling green hills and coastal grandeur of Point Reyes National Seashore just north of San Francisco. April is a peak wildflower month at Point Reyes, and also a time when mother and baby gray whales can be spotted migrating northward just off the coast.
Your hosts, Sundara Traymar, John Orlowski, and Pranavati (Nancy) Sexton, are Ananda yogis with extensive experience in backpacking and leading nature outings. They will guide you to a deeper experience of the Divine in nature using meditation, chanting, yoga, and Sharing Nature activities.
Arrive at the Point Reyes Youth Hostel Thursday afternoon. We’ll have dinner together, get acquainted, and review the trip and everyone’s gear. On Friday, after a delicious breakfast, we’ll hike to Sky Camp, which has a spectacular view west to the ocean. The second day, we’ll journey to Coast Camp, within an easy walk to the beach. We should arrive in time to enjoy low tide at the Sculptured Beach tide pools. In the evenings, the moon will be almost full, allowing us to enjoy the nighttime splendor of this beautiful area.
No backpacking experience is necessary, but you need to be in good physical shape and have no serious health problems. If you would like to join us, please fill out the application below. When you’re accepted, we’ll send you a gear list and directions. All meals will be provided by The Expanding Light.
