Nefretete Rasheed

Nayaswami Nefretete graduated from New York University where she received her Ph.D and majored in Drama Therapy and Psychology. In both her clinical and private practices, she worked primarily with chronic psychiatric, addiction recovery, and general populations. 

She is an interdisciplinary educator with a rich and varied background in the arts and spiritual studies and has received awards for her work in theater and poetry. She has lectured at Rutgers University, New York State University, and The School of Visual Arts. Nefretete has lived in the Ananda community since 2011.
