Learn How to Meditate Retreat
for Opening the Heart

Not scheduled at this time.

We can never know love if we try to draw others to ourselves; nor can we find it by centering our love in them. For love is infinite; it is never ours to create. We can only channel it from its source in Infinity to all whom we meet.

Swami Kriyananda, from Affirmations for Self Healing

The experience of feeling the expanded awareness and stillness of meditation is centered in the heart. As the great yoga avatar, Lahiri Mahasaya put it, “You can’t take one step on the spiritual path without devotion." (the Divine love of the heart)

Great progress in meditation can be made by stilling the restless waves of emotion, unplugging from fear and anxious feelings. Meditation is designed to do exactly this; to bring the breath and heart and mind in harmonious and expansive union. The heart calms and opens naturally in meditation. The focus of this weekend’s retreat is how to keep the heart open with courage and calmness. In this weekend program, led by Sabari Lester you will:

  • Learn a basic and effective meditation technique taught by Paramhansa Yogananda.
  • Discover how to unplug from negative emotions and plug into the natural qualities of the heart such as kindness, compassion and courage.
  • Tune into one of the greatest benefits of calming the heart through meditation- your intuitive capacity to know truth.
  • Learn how to sit comfortably so your body is not an obstacle to inner peace
  • Take home effective tools for continuing your adventure with a calm and expanding heart
