What is death, but letting go of a worn out vessel for the soul. As Swami Kriyananda states in his Bhagavad Gita interpretations: "Death is the final exam."
Join me on a journey around death. How would you like to die? What would you like to be done with your body after you die? How will you prepare for “The final exam”?
During this retreat we will:
- Do a life review
- Share our experiences of loss of loved ones
- Explore how to reconcile past hurts, attachments, and desires.
- Learn meditation techniques to release pain, and to feel and share the love and joy that is ours for the asking.
Who should attend?
- Doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and caregivers working with end of life
- Those who have lost loved ones
- Those who are dealing with life threatening diagnoses
- Those who care for loved ones
- Those who are thinking about the inevitability of death
This weekend will be led by Nayaswami Hanuman, a certified End of Life Practitioner through the Metta Institute and Founder of Ananda’s first Elder Care home, based on Swami Kriyananda’s “Evening Hospice” precepts. He loves to engage people where they are and find the commonality of spirit that transcends us all.
3 Tips on dealing with death and dying
1. Do the work! There is no escaping the need to practice living from the soul and not from the ego.
2. Gain a broader perspective. No matter what your situation, it is just a moment in eternity. Nothing ever stays the same.
3. Create a personal relationship with your True Nature. We are all fallible, but our True Nature is infallibile, ever existing ever conscious, ever one with us!
