Concentration – The Elephant and the Wooden Stick

In India, the mahoot (elephant trainer), trains the elephant from babyhood to hold a ‘baton’ (a wooden stick) in it’s trunk to keep it from picking up fruits from the marketplace stalls, as it passes through the market.

Similarly: to prevent the mind from getting distracted, we concentrate on the breath and use a mantra.
