Jyoti Spearin

One of Ananda's best-loved teachers, Jyoti is a minister, Raja & Hatha Yoga teacher and the director of the Personal Retreat program. As director of Personal Retreat, she coordinates guests' time at The Expanding Light, assisting and advising them on how to get the most from their stay here. She has been teaching meditation since 1988, and has shared meditation and Ananda Yoga in many colleges and hospitals. The emphasis of her teaching in the past few years has been on sharing yogic principles for making effective lifestyle changes to help people improve their physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Before coming to Ananda, Jyoti was a success in the business world—as a real estate agent, in a large catering and event-planning business, and as the owner of a vegetarian restaurant. Now, she brings that same dynamism to The Expanding Light where she shares her real love and gift for teaching yoga and meditation. Full of joy and fun, and a friend to all, Jyoti is ideally suited for her role; guests consistently share that she added greatly to their experience here.
