Do you realize that your brain changes according to how you use it? We know that muscles grow stronger the more they are used, but few people understand that your brain responds in the same way. There are parts of the brain that encourage a response in us that feels stressful, and other parts that help us to feel calm.

Meditation is a practical tool for changing how your brain functions, encouraging a feeling of calmness that lasts even while you’re not sitting in meditation.

During this weekend, we’ll look at some of the current medical knowledge about the brain to demonstrate the importance of meditation. You’ll learn a practical, easy-to-practice, ages-old technique. We’ll practice it together and answer all of your questions about how to make it work in your own life.

You’ll learn how to sit comfortably for meditation, how to improve concentration, and how to fit meditation into your life. We encourage you to begin with 5 minutes a day – whatever it takes to get the habit of meditation established. With practice, you’ll find your enjoyment of meditation grows, and you’ll want to sit longer.
