Swedish / Esalen Massage

Swedish / Esalen Massage is a combination of classic Swedish Massage and Esalen Massage.

Swedish Massage addresses the physical body and can use rolling, deep friction, compression and / or kneading movements to relieve pain and tension and increase circulation and flexibility. Esalen Massage works to change consciousness, helping you to achieve a state of deep relaxation where calmness, balance and harmony are enhanced.

This work is done through long, flowing, rhythmic strokes. Together they address you holistically, both body and mind. This combined style of massage I offer is deeply relaxing, excellent for your physical mental and spiritual well-being. Your massage may be customized to a lighter or stronger/deeper style depending on your individual preference.

Guided by intuition, or at your request, I integrate chakra and energy balancing modalities of reiki and polarity into the massage. Reiki and polarity are forms of hands-on energy balancing which allow your own healing energies to work.

My treatment is given in a peaceful, safe and nurturing environment, with calming music in the background. You will be kept draped with sheets to provide comfort and privacy. Only organic oils and high quality essential oils are used. Muscles will release into soothing bliss.

Reiki is also offered as a separate treatment. You remain clothed, supported by a comfortable massage table. No oil is used.

About Rohini Sanderson

Rohini has been studying yoga and healing since 1974. She received her massage training at the Heartwood Institute in Garberville, California. Her Ayurvedic bodywork training was at The Ayurvedic Institute, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is a strong, sensitive massage therapist with a deep understanding of health and well-being on all levels. She has a keenly developed sense of intuition and works with the interrelatedness of body, mind and spirit.

Rohini is also a certified Ayurvedic Healing Practitioner (also offering Abyanga), a Reiki Practitioner, Pancha Karma Therapist, Aromatherapist, and Ananda Yoga® Teacher.
