"Christ is risen from the sepulcher of my indifference, and I behold him in the light of my devotion. I, a sleeping son of God, am coming out of my bodily prison into the vast freedom of Spirit."
— Paramhansa Yogananda
The yoga science of Self-realization teaches that it is God Himself who has become his creation and his human children. In the great ones like Jesus, God’s living presence is fully awake. Yet Masters like Jesus do not incarnate to show us how great they are, but to show us how great is our own soul potential to become like them.
In this Easter weekend, you will explore a yogic approach to Christ's life, based on the teachings of Yogananda:
- The birth of Jesus – the advent of the Avatar
- The mysterious “lost years” of Jesus
- Yogic interpretations of the Holy Trinity, the origins of good and evil, free will vs. karma, reincarnation, the Christ Consciousness, the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, and other profound passages in the Bible
- Jesus as a yogi, and his teachings on meditation
- How to experience your own inner Christ
This inspiring way to spend Easter weekend will include music and guided meditations on the inner Christ, and will culminate in Ananda's Sunday Service led by the spiritual directors of Ananda Worldwide.
This program, Led by Nayaswami Krishnadas, is based on Yogananda’s original Second Coming of Christ, written in the 1930s, and on Revelations of Christ, by Swami Kriyananda, based on Yogananda's teachings.
