The Path of Kriya Yoga
Begin the Path of Kriya Yoga

2-day weekend

  • Coming again in 2011

“Introspection, or ‘sitting in the silence,’ is an unscientific way of trying to force apart the mind and senses, tied together by the life force. The contemplative mind, attempting its return to divinity, is constantly dragged back toward the senses by the life currents. Kriya, controlling the mind directly through the life force, is the easiest, most effective, and most scientific avenue of approach to the Infinite. In contrast to the slow, uncertain ‘bullock cart’ theological path to God, Kriya may justly be called the ‘airplane’ route.”
—from Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda

Millions of people have read Autobiography of a Yogi. Many find the chapter on Kriya Yoga so thrilling that they want to learn it. What does it involve? What are the next steps you should take to prepare yourself for Kriya?

Ananda teaches Kriya Yoga just as Paramhansa Yogananda taught it. The Kriya technique, described in Yogananda's autobiography, is part of a set of practices taught by Yogananda. This course will teach some of those practices, which can eventually lead to initiation into the technique of Kriya.

During this introductory weekend, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of what Kriya initiation is and how to prepare for it. The weekend will be taught by Dave Warner, who ministers to new Kriya initiates worldwide.

You will explore:

  • What is the path of Kriya Yoga? What does it mean to embrace this path?
  • What is the guru-disciple relationship?
  • How do you get the most from the path of Kriya?
  • What are practical ways you can use these teachings in your daily life?

The weekend will also include an introduction to meditation techniques of the Kriya path, including the Hong-Sau Technique, “Baby Kriya.”

You will receive personal guidance on how you can best plan for and work toward initiation into the Kriya Yoga technique, if you are interested.
